Industrial Visit – Electrical Engineering 2nd Year YMCA University

Today an Industrial visit was organised by Department of Electrical Engineering , YMCA University of Science and Technology Faridabad, for their students of Electrical Engineering 2nd Year. The visit was hosted by NSIC(National Small Industries Corporation) at Raja Jait Singh Polytechnic , Neemka Village Faridabad.
Main aim of this industrial visit was to give students a brief introduction about industrial training activities and also emphasizing the importance of practical applications of theoretical subjects taught in the classrooms.
The event was initiated by the addressal of Rajesh Kumar, Dy. General Manager NSIC Neemka Centre. While addressing the students he shared his experience of working in various organizations and describing his view on various technical and organizational structure of industrial setup.
He also told students about the importance of industrial training for both job-seekers as well as entrepreneurs.
After the briefings of other staff members and faculties of NSIC Centre, students were introduced to the the research laboratories. In the supervision of expert team, students were trained to operate various hi-tech automatic programme based machine.
Students were introduced to the concept of pnumetic pressure and motor based conveyor belts drive through operation of Pick and Drop packaging machines. Students were even given a chance to operate those machines themselves.
More than five models of pick and drop type of Machines were briefed to students. These all machines were taught under the category of mechotronics.
In the field of Mechanical engineering, CNC and VMC machine models were shown to students, also high-quality lathe machines were showcased in the lathe machine labs.
In another unit of labs and research centre a fully business oriented machine system was setup, this was dedicated to entrepreneurs who aspire to start something on their own. A setup of potato chips making , packaging machine,biscuit manufacturing machine, soya milk manufacturing machine, textile designing machine etc were installed for training purposes.
Further a lab dedicated for training of PLC based automation systems was also opened for students, in this lab students were taught to make computer programming on PLC for automatic running of all these machines.
This industrial visit was coordinated by GEW(General Electrical Workshop) YMCA UST Head Satpal Verma and Pawan Kumar Prajpati.
Students showed a positive response while their visit, students also aspire to participate in these types of industrial training programs in future.
