– The students of M.Sc. Chemistry of YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad now have an edge with wider industrial exposure as the University has introduced a customized Training and Placement Programme for its PG Chemistry students.
Under the programme, the University today organized an Industrial visit to its M.Sc. Chemistry student with the aim to provide them hands-on experience. A team of 28 students M.Sc. Chemistry today visited the local Industrial Unit of Bony Polymers (P) Ltd which is a leading Exporter, Manufacturer & Supplier of Rubber, sheet metal components; hydro mounts. The visit was held under the guidance of Dr. Bindu Mangla, the coordinator of the Course. During the visit, Managing Director of Bony Polymers Mr. Raj Bhatia, who is also an alumnus of YMCA University, interacted with the students and explained them about some of the important industrial processes.
It was the learning experience for the students as they got exposure to state of art technologies being adopted at industries and were able to correlate theoretical knowledge taught in class, with its implementation in industries.
Talking about the programme, Dr. Bindu Mangla said that the University has received an excellent response from the industry who have shortlisted the University students for hiring. This is quite promising as it is a pioneering initiative for the University under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar. To give hands-on experience to the students, several visits to the industry have been organized. Earlier, the students also visited NCB Ballabgarh and undertook summer projects there, she added.
